Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Beyt.co and its related website, mobile applications, and property services (“Beyt”, “we”, “us”, or the “Services”) collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal data. It applies to visitors, property seekers, owners, landlords, agents, advertisers, account holders, and people who contact us. We operate from the State of Kuwait and handle personal data in accordance with applicable Kuwait law, including the Data Privacy Protection Regulation issued by the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority under Decision No. 42 of 2021, where applicable.
Who Is Responsible for Your Data
Beyt is the service provider responsible for the personal data described in this Policy unless a notice presented at collection states otherwise. You can contact us at support@beyt.co. Property owners, agents, advertisers, payment providers, messaging platforms, and other third parties may separately control data they collect directly from you; their own privacy notices will apply to that processing.
Data You Give Us
Account and profile data, such as your name, email address, phone number, password credentials in protected form, language, account type, and verification information. Listing and professional data, such as property descriptions, price, location, photographs, documents, ownership or advertising authority, agency information, and licence details you choose or are required to provide. Communications and requests, including support messages, reports, property requests, feedback, referral details, and information submitted when you contact us or another User through a Beyt feature. Feature and transaction data, such as credits, wallet activity, featured-Listing selections, and payment or transaction references where a paid feature is available.
Data Collected When You Use Beyt
Device and log data, including IP address, device and browser type, operating system, app version, language, approximate location derived from IP, identifiers, access times, errors, and security events. Usage data, including searches, filters, pages and Listings viewed, saved Listings, impressions, clicks, referrals, and use of contact, call, or WhatsApp buttons. Beyt does not receive the content of a call or WhatsApp conversation that takes place outside our Services. Location data, including a city or area you enter or select. If a feature requests precise device location, we collect it only after the permission required by your device and applicable law. Cookie and similar-technology data used for essential operation, preferences, measurement, security, and—where permitted—advertising.
Information That Becomes Public
A Listing is intended to be seen by other Users. Property details, images, approximate or stated location, price, advertiser or agent identity, professional details, and contact options you include may be publicly visible and may appear in search engines or shared links. Do not publish a Civil ID, passport, title deed, private home details beyond what is needed for the Listing, or another person’s data unless you have authority and a lawful reason. Verification documents submitted privately to Beyt are not made public merely because a Listing is published.
How We Use Your Data
We use personal data to create and secure accounts; authenticate Users; publish, manage, search, rank, and recommend Listings; provide saved items, requests, referrals, credits, and featured features; connect property seekers with advertisers; provide support; and send service messages. We also use data to prevent fraud and misuse, investigate reports, enforce our Terms, protect Users and the Services, troubleshoot and improve performance, understand aggregate usage, develop features, maintain business and legal records, comply with lawful requests, and establish or defend legal claims. We use contact details for marketing only where permitted and with any consent required by applicable law. We do not sell personal data.
Why We Are Allowed to Process Data
Depending on the activity and applicable law, we process data with your consent; to provide a Service or feature you request and administer our agreement with you; to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation; to protect vital interests or public safety where relevant; or for legitimate interests such as securing, improving, and operating Beyt, preventing fraud, and understanding service use, provided those interests do not improperly override your rights. Where consent is the basis, you may withdraw it at any time, without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
When We Disclose Data
Other Users receive the public Listing, profile, and contact information needed for property discovery and direct communication. Service providers may process data for hosting, databases, image storage, analytics, communications, security, customer support, app distribution, and payment or transaction support. They receive only the data reasonably needed for their work and are subject to contractual or legal duties. We may disclose data to courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies, and other competent authorities when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and the Services. We may also disclose data in a merger, financing, reorganisation, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate confidentiality and this Policy or an equivalent notice.
How Long We Keep Data
We keep personal data only for the period reasonably needed for the purposes described above. Account and Listing data is generally retained while the account or Listing is active and afterwards for a limited period needed for deletion processing, backups, dispute handling, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal obligations. Support, report, security, and transaction records may be kept for the applicable limitation or statutory period. Analytics data is retained according to the settings of the relevant service. We consider the data’s nature and sensitivity, why it was collected, account activity, legal requirements, and potential risk when setting a period. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it, subject to lawful preservation duties and routine backup cycles.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, use, alteration, disclosure, loss, or destruction. Measures may include access controls, protected credentials, encryption where appropriate, logging, backups, vendor controls, and incident-response procedures. No internet or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your password and verification codes, keep devices secure, and notify support@beyt.co promptly if you suspect misuse.
Your Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law and relevant exceptions, you may ask to access and review your personal data, receive information about its use and disclosure, correct inaccurate or incomplete data, withdraw consent, object to or restrict certain processing, close your account, and delete data that is no longer lawfully required. You can update some information in your account and send other requests to support@beyt.co. We may verify your identity and authority before acting, and may retain information where required by Kuwait law, needed for legal claims, security, fraud prevention, or the rights of others. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may raise a complaint with the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority or another competent Kuwait authority where applicable.
Storage and Processing Outside Kuwait
Some hosting, cloud storage, analytics, communication, and support providers may process data outside Kuwait. Where personal data is transferred or accessed internationally, we use reasonable contractual, organisational, and technical safeguards and follow applicable Kuwait requirements. The privacy laws of another country may differ from Kuwait’s laws, but our handling of your data remains governed by this Policy.
Service Messages and Marketing
We may send messages needed to operate your account or a requested feature, such as verification, security, Listing, support, and policy notices. These are service communications. Promotional emails, messages, or notifications are sent only as permitted and may be stopped using the unsubscribe method provided, device settings, or by contacting us. Stopping marketing does not prevent essential service or legal notices.
Children
Beyt is intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly permit a child to create an account or publish a Listing. If you believe a child has provided personal data without proper authority, contact support@beyt.co. We will review the report and delete or restrict the data where required.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Policy when our Services, providers, security practices, or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised version and change the Effective Date. If an update materially affects how registered Users’ data is handled, we will provide reasonable notice through Beyt or registered contact details where practicable. We will request new consent where required by law.
Contact Us About Privacy
For a privacy question, complaint, or rights request, email support@beyt.co and write “Privacy Request” in the subject line. Include enough information to identify your account and request, but do not send a password, verification code, or unnecessary identity document by ordinary email. Beyt is based in the State of Kuwait. We will acknowledge and handle verified requests within the period required by applicable law.
